# Day 0 – The Start of My Cybersecurity Journey

Well… hi.

I’m Tomaz, from Brazil. I’m currently pursuing two degrees: a **Technologist in Systems Analysis and Development**, and a **Bachelor in Software Engineering**. My ultimate goal has always been to work in **Cybersecurity**, but until recently I wasn’t sure how or when I’d make the move.

For a while, my plan was to just finish my degrees, then look for a specialization in Cybersecurity afterward. That’s still part of the plan, but now I’m taking it a step further.

### The twist: I want to do this in Australia 🇦🇺

I’m preparing to move next year and take a **VET course in Cybersecurity**. It’s not 100% settled yet, but I’ve decided to commit to this path now. That means studying seriously, before I even leave Brazil.

### Why this blog?

This blog is where I’ll share my progress as I study. Think of it as a public learning diary. I’ll post about:

* The concepts I’m learning
    
* Hands-on projects and labs
    
* Tools I’m testing
    
* And eventually, more advanced topics like SIEM, incident response, and cloud security
    

I’m also building a **parallel documentation** where I’ll organize everything in a more structured, technical format, sort of like a personal knowledge base.
